Understanding Your Own Life

Why should you even study astrology seriously? It's not as if you're ever going to do astrology for a living, right?

But that's not the purpose of studying astrology. You're interested in astrology because you're interested in knowing your true, cosmic nature. So, you get readings, you watch forecasts, they help to keep you stay "on track” in your life. All of that is fine.

Passive or Active
But in this situation you are like a passive receptacle, "receiving cosmic messages” from someone like me. And you like it, it is grounding and feels good. But it also has you in an endless cycle of looking outward toward people like me, or those less competent, or those doing systems that are less credible than Vedic astrology, in order to try to understand yourself and your cosmic nature a little bit better.

Knowledge NOT Belief
I have been doing astrology full time since 2004, and I have seen that the best use of astrology, by far, is to study it, and learn it, and know it - not just "believe in it”.

When that happens, astrology is not just one more thing you are looking to externally, to define you internally. It is an inner power that you have, not just that you are looking to others for. These are answers that you will already have to the questions you might not even know you have.

But, if it's not taught or studied correctly, that can also be a problem. It is also possible to learn something valuable in a distorted and confusing way. I see this as being the most common problem in Vedic astrology scholarship now.

More Confused AND CERTAIN than when you started
Many are interested, and want to know more, so they go searching online for a good teacher, but wind up more confused - And don't even know it - because they have formed conclusions and things they “know are right”, but they don't understand how to use them.

For example, "Sade Sati" - "Kala Sarpa Yoga" and every difficult thing you have found in your chart, all the bad stuff that you're now afraid of, etc.
